Incredible gypsy jazz group performing pop hits

Gypsy Jazz (also known as gypsy swing or hot club jazz) is the jazz style pioneered by Django Reinhardt in the 1930s. The music combines the red hot swing of early American jazz, the passion and fire of flamenco, and the suave sophistication of Café Paris lounge music into an irresistible musical feast. Gypsy Jazz is the ultimate in continental cool!

Bringing a party like no other the Gypsies of Bohemia take this idea and inject it with their own unique brand of GYP POP transforming even the most sophisticated of settings into an all-out guitar style rave with their inventive and superbly crafted renditions of popular contemporary songs, pushing the cover version to its limits and offering audiences an exclusive chance to revisit and enjoy the songs they were too cool to like in the ’90s and ’00s!

The group are regulars on the UK festival circuit performing at such events as Glastonbury, Latitude, Lounge on the Farm, International Gypsy guitar festival, Kendal Calling, Festival Number 6, Green Man, Shamabala and Manchester Jazz Festival. Band members have performed alongside artists such as Guy Garvey, Jesca Hoop, Imelda May, Plan B and gypsy guitar legends Stochelo Rosenberg and Biel Ballister. TV and radio credits include T4, The Other Voices (Ireland), Marc Riley BBC6 and Radcliffe and Maconie Radio 2. Corporate clients include Gieves & Hawkes, Red Bull Formula One, Bloomberg, ITV and Deutsche Bank.

Whether its vintage chic or festival fun, Gypsies of Bohemia can provide the perfect backdrop to any occasion with performances that can conjure the mellow atmosphere of a parisian cafe or capture the hedonistic mood of a foot-stomping campfire jam session, delivered with trademark virtuosity by these incredible musicians. Rarely has such a delicate balance been successfully struck between the artistic and the absurd. Is Django turning in his grave?…. We hope he’s doing it B-Boy style to the sounds of Gyp Pop!
